Briggs Builders pride themselves on a ‘job well done’ whether it’s a million dollar contract or a kitchen renovation.
John Briggs has been involved in the joinery and building trade for the last 40 years. Versatility has been essential during Briggs Builders’ history, from small kitchen and bathroom alterations to large unique projects. These include Tom McDonald Cellar and Underground Museum at Church Road Winery; the original conversion of an old wool store at Port Ahuriri into Shed 2 Bar and Restaurant and then, in 2008, the award winning redevelopment of Shed 2 Bar and Caution Restaurant; and a rammed earth house.
Briggs Builders has also been involved in several shop fit outs throughout the Napier central city area, including Gahagans Pharmacy and bringing The Cri Bar and Grill back to life after a major fire in 1990. A sideline of John’s has been involvement with local theatre group Napier Operatic Society, during which he has designed and built several stage sets for productions in the Municipal and Tabard theatres in Napier.
